18,000 People Left Rolling On W. Manchester Blvd. Saturday August 8, 2009 at Hard Summer

Looks like Hardfest at the Los Angeles Forum went soft early this past Saturday, as the Los Angeles County Fire Department was forced to close the event at only 9pm in the evening.
The event, which was supposed to showcase all star DJs including Underworld, Chromeo, Crystal Castles, and more, turned out to be a bust for the 18,000 people attending, geared with El Wires and Glow Sticks.
“The officials deemed the event as dangerous and hazardous after several people began doing several potentially dangerous activities, such as jumping off the balcony. Ticketmaster, Groovetickets, and retail stores that sold Hardfest tickets are all issuing full refunds.” – Hardfest.com
Here are the refund policies from Hardfest.com:

Hardfest promoters tried all they could to keep this event going, but the authorities had the last say in the matter. Hardfest.com commented on the incident that “While we, the promoters, worked with the authorities to consider other options to continue the concert, ultimately they made the decision based on the safety of the concertgoers. We are happy to report that there were no major injuries.”
Could this be a foreshadowing of what to expect at Hardfest Halloween? Or will the Hard Haunted Mansion redeem the Hardfest Summer event and blow us all out of the water? We’ll have to wait and see.
